Well, this story told in a collection of newspaper clippings certainly offers a... unique perspective on the nature vs. nurture debate. I was rolling my eyes a little just a few paragraphs in at the improbable Mary Sue character of Nerys Leilani and her many... assets, and although I'd guessed her identity early on, the identity of the collector and the punchline came as a delightful surprise that made me laugh out loud - and so did the idea that yes, in a way all the events in the story are all canonical, if copied to modern-day circumstances. In light of this story, not even Lúthien seems all that improbable anymore in a pantheon of larger-than-life characters, and Nerys (I'll leave it up to the readers to discover her identity) certainly is one of the foremost among them. Well done, Ellie!

An unusual, quirky, fantastical biography of a cloned elleth in the modern world. Makes for a great little read and a lot of broad grins. Let's hope Gimli really did take Galadriel's strands of hair to Valinor with him, though, 'cos I'd hate to bump into this over-achieving vision of perfection (she'd make me look like a lazy, useless mutant). As super-high-profile as Nerys appears to be, though, it can't have escaped the world's attention that she wasn't ageing ... Wonder how they would react? Now that would make for a VERY interesting sequel. *stares at author hopefully* Well written, imaginative and very great fun!

This is an ingenious conceit and great fun to read! Who would have thought Gimli's chivalry could have such dire consequences? But given some of the recent developments in archaeology and genetics, a lock of hair is a dangerous thing to leave lying around. And there can be little doubt that it is true that Galadriel would have developed into an over-achiever to outstrip all over-achievers in any context she happened to be born into! No wonder Thranduil is disgruntled...

Absolutely hysterical, especially when one reaches the end. This is Ellie at her best in writing what can only be described as wicked humor. The newspaper article format works well here.

A fascinating "what if" story when the strands of hair that Galadriel gave to Gimli are cloned in our world. Could modern earth be ready for Galadriel? A most enjoyable and oddly convincing tale that kept me guessing!

An amusing tale of a modern Mary-Sue; but with a very plausible explanation about why this gal is gorgeous, athletic, and good at everything she tries, not to mention ambitious. Loved the cameo appearance of Thranduil! An unusual and quite entertaining story.

LOL! This is too funny! We see the creation of the perfect Mary Sue through a series of snippets that make it quite clear who she is and why! Hilarious!
