So many emotions that Elrond showed in one dance with his daughter. I sniffled. Well done.

There are layers upon layers within this fic, and my feeble words couldn't hope to describe them all. This is Elrond caught within the moments of a dance, and even as we become intimately familiar with his thoughts, we are held at a distance and we receive the unmistakable impression that this is elven. And as mortals, we can never fully comprehend what is happening. The writing is so detailed and intricate, and moves very much like the dance itself does with patterns of complex rhythms and steps that are bewildering when looked at individually but form an astounding picture by the time the dance is done. Sphinx does a wonderful job at looking through Elrond's eyes in a very elven way, showing us an elven attention to details in both surroundings and words. Very well done was the concept of Estel and Elessar being one man but with the names belonging to different people. A very elven idea, and very well described. Amazing story!

This was so very moving, watching the series of thoughts that go through Elrond's head during the dance. Sorrow, anger, hope, all combined into the rhythm of the music and movements. You've given us a lovely, though sad, glimpse into the heart of a father who knows he will never see his daughter again.
