This is a really awesome story! I really like this one. Legolas and Gimli are such great, wonderful friends in this, that they decide to get their fathers together to become good friends as well; and get them together to discuss their lives and perhaps potential friendship. I love that idea, considering their not-so-pleasant past together! It would be just a matter of getting them over their differences and old grudges...not to mention prejudices of the different races. Particularly between those two. But Legolas and Gimli have no idea how deeply, at least Thranduil, feels that bad blood between their races; something not that easily remedied. Legolas trying to reason with Thranduil doesn't seem to do much good. Just in making the poor Elf very frustrated and angry. Thranduil doesn't even know Gimli and threatens him harm and then orders him killed. Thranduil is so judgmental and stubborn with the prejudices he has, and seeming in- ability to change his ideas, here, that it makes me wonder what kind of a role model he's been for Legolas. How here did Legolas turn out so different? As he said, though, being in the Wars together, and facing the dangers and simple living day to day with each other can change a heart and made them overcome their differences, and so they could become great friends and family to each other. Legolas was hoping that for his father so much in this. I'm very anxious to see where this story goes, and if it does end up working out for Legolas and Gimli to bring their fathers together again. And what about poor Gimli? He won't be killed will he? I don't think Legolas could ever forgive him for that. I love this story and want to read more. Keep it coming!! Thanks for the good read!!

This is an intriguing first chapter. Legolas and Gimli are comfortable in their friendship, enough, apparently, to tweak the sensibilities of their fathers a little. It is a good beginning, and readers will welcome more chapters.

Nice to see Gimli overcoming his fear of Fangorn. And sweet to read of dwarf and elf conspiring to force their fathers into resolving old grudges - hopefully it will meet with success. Something we may find out if the author updates the story ... *nudge, nudge*

-- Thank you for the nudge, i did update, and i plan to update soon as well. Hope you'll enjoy reading what i have in mind... though Gimli and Legolas will have to work hard... evil grin. Thank you for reviewing and nudging, please feel free to nudge. *Hugs & Kisses* Have a great week and keep smiling, Sivan Shemesh

The friendship between Legolas and Gimli is one of the more unusual ones to result from the Fellowship. Friendship is easy when it is an expected, even an accepted one, but the real test is comes when one must face disapproval from one's family and loved ones.

A tale that is barely begun, it seems, but with potential.
