Summary: A poem that connects First Age Arda with the present. Just what do we see when the morning star hangs in the pre-dawn sky?

A lovely poem, and anyone who has had the good fortune to be awake just before dawn has no doubt had the pleasure of seeing these ‘stars’ shining brilliantly in the velvet night. I remember my own feelings of awe and delight making a night climb up Mt. Tai in China under the full light of Tilion, reaching the top and seeing Earendil shining on the eastern horizon while below us the land was hidden under a sea of clouds as we waited that October morn for the coming of Arien. Of course, I was the only one who thought of them in this manner, but that just made the experience the more enjoyable.

Just lovely! You draw an exquisite picture here with your words -- as lovely and striking for me as any of the pictures you've taken with your camera, Rhyselle, meldanya. I was drawn in and could see the Star of Earendil in the dawning sky, exactly as if I was there. Thank you so much for this. Alaita Eru!

I like this: a simple poem about someone noticing and appreciating the Stars. Yet the use of the names given them in Arda firmly plants the poem there, and the reader can easily envision someone heading out in the early morning entranced by the stars still visible before the Sun rises. I like the poem's structure as well; good use of rhyme and good scansion.

I very much like the notion of Middle-earth being a continuing tradition until this day, and seeing it put into verse is even more fun, so this was an unexpected treat to find. Thank you very much for sharing this.
