By the Lake is a wonderfully told drabble. Fluffy and sweet, it captures a tranquil moment in the life of Aragorn and Arwen, and manages it without becoming cliched or sappy. Perfect!

-- Thank you so much! I live in fear of writing fluff stuff, to be honest, because I'm afraid it will come across as completely sappy nonsense, so it's very reassuring to hear that you thought this avoided that pitfall! Thanks for leaving the kind review!

What a delightful glimpse of Aragorn relaxing by Lake Evendim during a visit there as King. To be sunbathing in a peaceful land with Arwen beside him is a beautiful image of his dreams come true. I wish I could have been there as Cairistiona paints so delightful a word picture!

-- Thank you, Linda! I'm with you in wishing I could have actually been sitting there watching Aragorn enjoying the peace and his family at last!

Isn't it wonderful to imagine Elessar and his bride enjoying their well earned time together but the real of joy of this piece is that the couple are at Annuminas. There remains something elusive and magical about the rebuilt city, probably because we never actually go there. Cairistiona has provided a tantalising glimpse!

-- Thank you, Liz! It *is* wonderful to imagine Elessar having quiet family moments. I had such a relaxing time visualizing this piece... I want to live in Annuminas, I think!

In this drabble, Cairistiona's writing conjures up the scene vividly for the reader, putting us firmly into Aragorn's viewpoint in this lovely, relaxing pastoral moment. Nicely done.

-- Thanks so much! I so enjoy imagining Elessar, his long hard road finally over, enjoying peace and family at long last!

This is lovely..........the imagery has the sound and feel of poetry to it. Cairistiona gives the reader a delightful glimpse of the king finally at rest, enjoying the fruits of his many long years of labor.

-- Thank you, Striderette! I'm so glad you liked this little glimpse of Elessar on his "day off". I like to think he had many such moments along the lake in his Northern Kingdom. :)

A lovely little moment for Elessar as he relaxes near Annuminas. Reading, you can almost feel the cool water lapping around your own feet.

-- Thank you, Nath! Such kind words... and I feel as if I need to hand you a towel. :)

This story is pleasantly descriptive, and also a good character piece; it reminds us that Elessar was a family man as well as a king. Nicely written!

-- Thank you, Darkover! I definitely wanted to show the happily married family man here. It's too easy to lose sight of Aragorn's human side amongst the Great Kingly stuff!

A beautiful scene reflecting peace and tranquility; yes, days of the king are really happy days.

-- Thank you, Ellynn! So glad you enjoyed this quiet little moment by the lake.
