I'm going to openly admit now that Goldberry and Tom Bombadil always bothered me. But I gained new appreciation for them in this poem because it seemed to me as though they formed a very balanced and very understanding relationship. And I like the idea that Goldberry sees more to Tom than the singing, capering guy in yellow boots.

Interesting - I had never thought much about Goldberry, but this poem paints a nice picture of her.

This poem has a marvelous rhythm to it, a lovely flowing, sing-song feel (appropriate given the characters), and Goldberry comes at long last into her own as an elemental personality who seems truly to fit Middle-earth.
