I can't even imagine how Finarfin...or any of his brothers or nephews felt, having to make the horrible choices they made, or the sort of hopeless fates they followed. Nice peek into his struggle.

Finarfin is one of my favorite characters, and I love it when people write from his viewpoint. He really doesn't get enough notice. This fic, in particular, is stunning, especially the way in which the kinslaying is described. The death of the Teleri takes on new meaning when seen through Finarfin's eyes, and it's easy to see why he turned back after that. The effect on him was staggering, and Starlight brings it out perfectly.

One usually doesn't think of the courage it took to turn back from the Kin-slaying, when one had been already a rebel at heart. A well-picked moment of introspection!

Oh, that is sad, and very poignant. Yes, Finarfin turned back, heeding the call after the Kinslaying, but he lost his children to Feanor and his brood and so he would be sad by both the Kinslaying and the ones leaving.

I think this author has great talent for allowing the readers to "feel" this situation. I was quite saddened by the parting of the elves like she portrays. She used the word "sundered", such a strong and final word to match that of the separation between the kin of the elves. Well done.
