Nobody in Chris's story is listed by name (well, except for Aulë, but he doesn't count) and there really isn't a location given. But none of that matters, because this is a vignette about dwarves as a race. There's no time to single out individuals, and one might wonder if there is time to even hit the entire race, but Chris manages to do it. Using the familiar form of dating and courtship, Chris sheds light on the more unfamiliar relationship between dwarves and mines. Great writing technique and very effective, especially when used in vignette form.
