Marta

Marta is famous for her gap fillers and while this one is not quite that, she does convey her theme well.

Marta is in her element with drama and drabbles. They do seem to her specialty and she addresses them well.

As I think of Marta's stories of Men, with my battered memory, I think of simple moments, or traditions, told with pognancy and importance.

There are stories of her which involve me. One feels she investigates Tolkien's publications and works on her stories. Her story is well crafted.

Props for originality, that's certain! Marta decides to take the romance genre wandering, and the end result is very refreshing. Great choice of pairing.

Marta does something in her fic that I wish with all my heart I could do. Marta adopts Gollums voice. Both voices, actually, because theres a difference between the voice of Gollum and the voice of Smagol. Its subtle, to be sure, but its there, and Im sitting here in awe trying to figure out how it was done. I think Smagols sentences are simpler and shorter. Almost as though hes a child coming from a more innocent time. Maybe Im reading too much into this, but however Marta did it, the result is fantastic. Gollum is Gollum, Smagol is Smagol, and Marta gives us a terrific glimpse into his mind as he recalls teaching his grandmother to suck eggs. Good stuff!
