At first, I was not too happy about this story. I kept thinking the twins would know how 'improper' those games were, but then I realized that they're young, and acting like normal kids. So often, since they're elves, we think they don't do things improper games. Nice to see that they might.

That was a surprisingly disturbing story, and I think the innocence of the twins made it all the worse. They hunt Teleri while their parents assume they hunt Orcs, and then that last game of Elrond and ElrosÂ… I was disturbed. There's something fundamentally wrong in seeing the horrors of the First Age and Second Age acted out by children. Very eerie tale.

Very unusual story with the twins play acting moments of history. Cirdan writes the twins well, and the ending, with the boys playing Elrond/Elros was shocking and intense.
