I knew this one sounded familiar. I've read it before, but enjoyed seeing it again. I really don't normally like things that are too AU, but I think you walked that line nicely, keeping Elrond and Legolas very much elf-like and in character, while giving them a new adventure to experience. Very interesting reason for the evil king to want the Mirkwood royals dead, and the collar was a neat touch! And great wrap-up, finished the story while leaving room for more adventures--sign of a good sequel writer! Well done!

This was my first Cassia story, and they had me hooked from the first chapter. Legolas is captured, true, but not without a lot of effort, showing that even young, he is a strong warrior. And from there the angst goes up and up and intrigue grows within the plot. Elrond arrived, but will he rescue poor Legolas and blow his cover orregretably let the young Elf suffer? It doesn't let up until the very end.
