Interesting look at Sauron. I'll confess that I liked the first part best. There was something both eerie and familiar in the fact that Melkor kept returning and looking for his answer, and that Sauron kept avoiding the question even as he slowly changed. But the second section between Sauron and Gothmog was also good, especially when Sauron wonders about his own will and his supposed freedom.

Whoa. Sick and twisted, as the subject warrants. And how interesting to find some sympathy in Sauron and a Balrog but one that is brushed away and leaves the cruelty behind.

Ewww! Such slimy oily evil is Melkor! This was a very good illustrationÂ… reminded me of the serpent in the garden. Chilling is a good word for it.

First part: interesting story about the seduction of Sauron. Second part: for me it was sarcastic. Where is the horror ? I saw some superficial sadism.
