Now, this is something I haven't seen very many people touch on (but then, maybe I just haven't run across any other fics about this, and it's possible there's plenty out there.) However, it's got Fiondil's special touch, to show Gandalf's master strokes at the back of this story. He explains himself very well to Elrond, and so a seed has indeed been planted. The footnotes are, as ever, always welcome so I've added to my knowledge of that story behind the story. =)

The "old meddler" is at work again! The author had an interesting idea for a plot, and developed it well, although IMHO Ivorwen would not have been so meek as she is portrayed here. Nicely written, with a fine portrayal of Dunedain family life. Well worth reading.

I love this scenario, in which Gandalf might have influenced Dirhael to let his daughter marry Arathorn - a marriage that brought Hope to the whole Middle-earth, as we all know. Wonderful story, which got one of my votes on ALEC contest.

Gandalf has his fingers in everything. Here he helps Arathorn's suit along. This story is typical Gandalf, subtly (or not) influencing people to do what he thinks is right. I like the glimpses into Dunedain life we get here.
