I thought that was a bit out of character for Legolas as well, to be that negative, but your story explains it very well. Certainly makes sense to me, anyway!

Good expansion of a scene in the movie. Khylea doesn't simply parrot what was said and done but expands upon it, eventually leading us into a new scene in which Legolas is alone with his thoughts and his memories. The realization of tension and the eventual realization of hope are very well portrayed.

This fiction is just beautiful, even if it is a first one it is a moving story told around movie verse. I loved the Helms Deep scenes and I have to say they are captured here with much feeling. To have Legolas admit much shame and despair that his people did not come to fight. My favorite part is the swell of hope when Legolas hears the elf horn.
