Oh dear! Those dratted creatures that fall from the sky cause no end of trouble, do they? Who would think the Fellowship would just happen to run into four of them in a week?

I'm not entirely sure why, but this story reminds me of snipe hunting. For those not familiar with that wonderful tradition, I'll try not to spoil it, but I will say that it provides hours of entertainment. Giant, rolling buildups precede the actual hunt, the hunt itself is gripping and tense, and then the end just seems to drop. But the very nature of the contrast between beginning and end is half the fun, and afterwards, everyone can look back and shake their heads in disbelief that such a thing ever took place. This story reminds me very much of that. I mean that as a compliment, too, just in case people aren't sure. I like to take groups out snipe hunting.

Oh, my! That was hilarious! Good balance between tension and farce! And what a perfectly fitting end for Mary Sues and other gravitational anomalies! Keep it up!
