What a great tradition, and it fits perfectly with the Rohirrim. I can just see Eowyn making it. Nicely done.

Just as the summary says, it is the simplest gifts that say the most. Aragorn wished Eowyn joy, and not only does she realize that now but she also returns the favor. A great look at Rohirric culture, the somewhat uncertain relationship between Eowyn and Faramir, and the relationship between Aragorn and Eowyn.

Those flashbacks with her mother knocked my socks off. What smooth writing! This piece is more about aura than anything else. It lulls, strokes, chuckles, and soothes. There's nothing dangerous here. And in the Middle-earth that Eowyn has known, that in itself is pretty magnificent
