Summary: Set in Greenwood the Great several decades before the LOTR trilogy begins, this fic tells the tale of a sweetly annoying Elf prince and the fiery lady he unfortunately chooses to bestow his affections upon one Spring Festival. Certainly not the usual Legolas romance-type, mainly as it's told from the point of view of the heroine, a deeply sarcastic and rather wicked female Elf named Nessa. There are intersections with "The Hobbit" as well as a guest appearance from everyone's favourite filthy ranger.

I started out reading this story with speculation and then became addicted. The first person point of view makes the reader live through all of Nessa's journeys and for me I felt it really made the story more fun. I found this author had an amazing sense of humor and was quite impressed that she could convey that humor throughout her chapters. When she introduced the court ladies and then called them the "Twitterers of Mordor," I laughed so hard I woke up my youngest child. What I think I enjoyed the most about this story is that the female character is on a journey and even though she won't accept her fate, that Legolas loves her, the reader ends up hoping that in the next chapter she will finally accept him. I recommend this story to anyone who wants a fun and adventurous romance that is not sappy or filled with angst.

See, the thing about this story that makes it so durned charming is the POV character: "I wondered if kicking the prince in the shins would count as treason." Her refreshing chatty personality had me chuckling all the way through, making it impossible to become bored. Plus, Malhon is adorable.
