I very much like the symbols chosen to represent Aragorn and Arwen in this poem, and I like the ideas presented about how the waiting made the moment sweeter in the end. It reminds me of something Aragorn said to Gandalf about long years of waiting and preparation when Gandalf gave the palantír into his keeping. Very nice.

I have a weakness for White Gull's poetry. It is lyrically simple and yet, because it is simple and straightforward, there is no divisiveness, it merely IS exactly what it says and its power comes from skill not some obscure symbolism that only a few would understand. The Courtship of Evenstar really shows the honesty of her work. It is a straightforward allegory without any pretense. Her words flow effortlessly and, though I am by no means an expert at reviewing poetry, her work seems the type that any reader could enjoy.

I liked the use of the star and moon imagery to substitute for Arwen and Aragorn. Lovely rhythm!
