A lovely drabble series about not just Imrahil, but specifically Imrahil as a boatman and sailor. As a prince of Dol Amroth, Imrahil must have learned some seamanship, and fairly young; skill with boats and ships would be integral to a lord of Belfalas. Tanaqui presents Imrahil as a very young child on his father's lap, learning the beginnings of seamanship, then growing up, making mistakes and then accompanying Thorongil on that fateful journey to Umbar. I especially liked the glimpse of full-of-himself young Imrahil thinking that he can handle anything, and getting stuck in a storm on a small boat with a friend. And the last drabble, Imrahil accepting Aragorn's gift of one of the boats of Lorien, is wonderful, the reader can feel Imrahil's anticipatory excitement. An unusual and very believable take on Imrahil.

What a wonderful set of drabbles! I don't think this particular aspect of Imrahil has ever been explored (that I've seen), and certainly not so well. What a poignant and beautiful character study.

I loved this series of drabbles about Imrahil and his love of the sea. As someone who loves the sea too, they were a sheer delight to read.It seems very fitting that Imrahil should love boats, be part of the raid on the Corsairs and be fittingly rewarded by Aragorn.

A really nice set of drabbles, as we see Imrahil growing up and growing older, but always his first love is the same. A beautiful character study!
