Tanaqui tantalizes us with an AU where the firstborn of Denethor and Finduilas was female, and the second, as in the original LOTR, was Faramir. Tanaqui takes us to a quiet conversation between Faramir and his older sister in Edoras, where Faramir has stopped to visit during his journey to Imladris. In a hundred words, the differences and similarities between this universe and the original are shown: Faramir's sister, Miriel, is the wife of Theodred and the mother of his son; and Wormtongue is still a serious threat to Theoden and his heirs. Excellent portrait of a brother and sister who keep counsel and take precautions, girding themselves for danger yet keeping hope in their hearts.

Quite a lot has been packed into one very-original drabble. Because of one thing--Denethor's firstborn being female--the whole LotR tale is rendered AU. Very intriguing and well done.

This is a though-provoking AU-fic, to say the least. As a result of this, everything we know about the Quest will be changed. Will Faramir die as he brother did? Will he try to take the Ring even? Will he make it to Imladris at all? How will Faramir's sister's life play out as the wife of a world power? All things to consider. What an excellent, engaging drabble!

I love well-done AU's but I've never seen an AU drabble! I loved this and am awed you fit so much into such a short span. What would happen to Eomer and Eowyn? It certainly changes everything and it would be fascinating to see this expanded. Great job!

This little piece shows a view into the wider "what if". I found myself really wanting more to see the greater landscape of what was happening but the piece does show a glimmer of what that happenstance is.

What an intriguing drabble! So much packed into such a small space: it's crying out to be extended into a sequence!
