This story is comprised of a series of drabbles, all of which feature Faramir as seen from the POV of other characters: two of Faramir's men, Pippin, Prince Imrahil, and Gandalf. In so doing the author not only gives the reader an insight into each one of those characters, but the reader also sees Faramir for the kind, decent, steady leader of men, good friend, and faithful son that he was, just as Tolkien meant for the Steward's younger son to be perceived. If you enjoy POV stories, or even if you don't, the drabbles of "Below the Plunge" are well worth reading. Each can be read as a stand-alone, but they are even better when read as part of the series about Faramir. I have seldom seen drabbles written so beautifully, or employed so well in the exploration of an individual character, as they are here. If you were not a great fan of Faramir before reading this series of drabbles about him, I can almost guarantee that you will be one after you have finished reading them.

Such a beautiful ficlet series about Faramir - describing his big heart and sense of duty and honor. Wonderfully done.

A wonderful study on Faramir! I liked the author's method of looking at him from different angles, as it gave a more complete portrait. Well done!
