A fresh, unusual vignette about a matter many have delved into, depicting the encounter between Legolas and an unexpected someone in a beach… Mysterious Jedi presented an unusual yet quite logical answer to the question of who sent Legolas the permission to bring Gimli to the West with him: the Lord of Waters. From Legolas’ point of view, by which this story is told, the Vala is both other-worldly and so tangible, and so the encounter was made real and enjoyable without leaving out Ulmo’s true nature as a spirit not of this world. (The reviewer loved how Ulmo both consoled Legolas and gave a solution to his problem, echoing his deeds in previous ages…) – Well done!

It is with mixed feelings that Legolas looks upon the Sea, for he is filled with the Sea Longing, and at a time when his heart is tied to those who cannot traverse the Sea’s distances with him, for they are mortal. How precious, then, is the promise given him by the one who comes to offer the Elf comfort there upon the shore, within the sound of the surf! Well done, and love the image given of Legolas’s comforter!

Beautiful story. The heartache that Legolas is experiencing, his surprising conversation with Ulmo which eases his troubles shows us we're never truly alone. Definitely one of my favorite Legolas stories.
