Obsession indeed! A chilling look at the dangers and empty promises of the One Ring, stripped naked and laid bare for all with foolish desires of fame and glory to take note of. If only Calenlass Greenleaf's excellent poem had been available to all those who thought to master Sauron's filthy trinket, he may well have been foiled all the sooner in his despotic attempts to rule the world! Then again, that would have deprived the rest of us of the glory of a really good trilogy ... A dark delight of a read. Wish I could write intelligent poetry like this ... Great work! Kara's Aunty :)

I doubt there is a better descriptor of the Ring and Its ways than what Calenlass has written here! To see Its blandishments and tactics exposed like this, and to see so clearly shown how It has managed to destroy the minds and hearts of Its victims is a true revelation! Well written and worth contemplating,

Powerful poem of the perils of Ring-lust. The two sequels are equally well done.
