This is a great beginning to this story. It could go any direction. Anything could happen. That is what is so much fun about this! Lots of potential! There is no reason given, yet, as to why Gandalf wanted to talk to Thranduil, unless it is about Gollum; which is probably the case. Right? I feel bad for Legolas that he cannot see anything good in his heart of his home, or Mirkwood. He cannot seem to see and feel beyond the bad and evil brought on by Sauron and his minions. And the evil and darkness brought along with them. He automatically assumes that Gollum is all evil and has no good attributes or redeeming qualities at all. That's not a good way to think about anyone, but it is understandable for him concerning Gollum. What is behind that magical doorway? I'm very curious about that. Obviously it will lead Legolas somehow to a better understanding and belief in the reality of goodness. And help him realize that not everything is bad or evil. It's interesting how when he goes through the door, his weapons drop. So he is probably no longer in Mirkwood, or at least near his home? Where is he? There are too many questions for me. I will have to continue on with this. It's an awesome start, though! Love it!!
