I do love your stories, as you already know, but this one was new to me. Poor Sam, did he ever have a chance? I like the way you write your hobbits; they sound very true-to-character to me. And then the tie-in with the Quest--and how in the world do you manage to get me to guffaw like that, reading about such a serious thing???

*snork* I admit to not being overly fond of young hobbit antics, but one *definitely* should not allow Merry and Pippin to be in charge of boats. Ever. Great last line-I pity Boromir. I mean, the man is going to die on Parth Galen only after days on the water with Merry and Pippin. Some guys just don't get any breaks!
