Well, I personally wouldn't want to be readied for Grima's gift-giving. But I did like this poem. I enjoyed the allusions to riders and horses, which is very much the culture of Rohan, and how Grima is trying to tame all of that, including both Eowyn and Theoden. Good symbolic work.

I think the highest praise I can say of this is that it inspired a definite wince and a moment of squick to think of exactly what Gríma's gift-giving is. Twenty-five words, coated with wormy slime--that's this haiku set! And that's a compliment, even.

I never imagined Grima writing any kind of poetry, let alone haikus. Yet somehow this didn't seem out-of-character for Wormtongue. Good job.
