Nice look at Merry and Eowyn's relationship. Definitely not something that Tolkien was too specific about, though he hinted that they might be close. Socks! *laughs* That's a pretty humorous way to tie their friendship together.

Merry and Eowyn on the ride to battle--another area that is not explored enough. I liked the way they comforted one another, and the part with the boots was inspired.

You don't see that many good stories about Eowyn and Merry. I like the way the relationship was fleshed out. Merry shows his dedication, and still remains very hobbity with his promise to Windfola.
