Very chilling story. Zimraphel delivers as usual, giving us enough insights into the OCs so that we can connect with them, and then the rug is pulled out from under our feet. As usual. I knew what was going to happen, but Gollum's song still made me freeze, and it's a testament to Zimraphel's writing that I was caught off guard. Good stuff.

Very chilling little story, plausible explanation for how Gollum came to escape his captors, with the sub-text of how pity can have not only positive, but also dire, consequences.

Oh dear! Did Gollum do what I think he was planning to do? Yikes. Poor Bainion. And the others. A well-written story to tell of the Elves that guarded Legolas and their demise. And seems to go the way of saying Gollum knew the orcs were coming as he wasn't afraid of them when they came. (Zim, you have a repeated sentence in there. Not sure if you meant it.)
