Nicely done. I liked the little scenes between each of the characters. It was good to get to know Merry and Pippin, and the others better.

Good missing scenes from the hobbits' side of the story. I particularly enjoyed Pippin's thoughts in the second chapter when he notes that not only is he taller but now he is also flatter. Trust a hobbit to concern himself with that.

I read this one long ago, so it suffers from my lapse in memory. But I do remember having liked it and thought it did well to fill those gaps. Merry and Faramir staying behind while the others went to the Black Gate, Pippin hoping he might be found under the troll, Merry going to find Pippin wounded (a part too quickly skipped over in LOTR, I think) and finally Pippin waking up and being reunited with Merry. Lovely scenes all of them, filling gaps quite well.

This is a nice picture of Merry and Pippin, and I enjoyed it very much!
