Lots of stories about Elrond and Elros being left behind, but not many on how their parents and grandparents felt, having to leave them. Nice read.

Tuor is a fascinating character to me, and Sphinx does a good job with him here as he prepares to leave with Idril. The scene painted is very much a pause of sorts as he thinks about what he's gained and what he's leaving behind. Tuor seems to be grasping at the intangible in this fic, and given what happens to him and what he's done already, I think that's a perfect note for his character.

Interesting glimpse into Tuor's mind. I particularly enjoyed his reflection on what the difference is between Elves and Men, that Elves so seldom pledge themselves to a cause not their own, whereas mortals seem to do so more often.

An interesting take on Tuor and Idril. Since I am just beginning to research these two, I read this fiction with interest. It was written very well.
