Ah, but I do love this peek into Gandalf's thoughts as Minas Tirith readies itself for the Coronation of its new King, as he observes the preparations, examines where Aragorn will hold his courts, and remembers the welcome given Pippin by Denethor, thinking on how the rash Took has matured during the quest. And I love those final moments as Gandalf smiles into the eyes of the newly crowned King and thinks on his future.... Short and sweet indeed--a delightful snapshot of that day, preserved in the thoughts of our favorite Wizard.

This is a brief, poetic tale of a very special day, from the POV of Gandalf. The story gives us a brief glimpse of the wizard's efforts to produce this fairy-tale ending. Nicely written.

Cathleen seldom writes a non-hobbit POV, but in this one she captures Gandalf's voice quite well. The wizard has a lot to think about on this momentous day-- and one of those things is a certain small Guard of the Citadel and his place in all that happened. A very nicely constructed little vignette that does honor to its narrator and its subjects.

This is a very thoughtful little ficlet from Gandalf's pov. He has seen it all. I like his thoughts about Pippin's growth throughout the Quest.
