Dear Frodo! Always so eager to help. Something he soon began to regret in this instance after offering to help Sam-lad with his sums in lieu of his usual teacher, Bilbo (though young Master Baggins would be much to polite and kind to think such a thing, let alone say it). And it all started out so well, until a slip of the tongue set wee Sam's own a meandering freely as children's are so wont to do. Love the (very) little gardener's concern for Mr Bilbo, and giggled at poor Frodo's fruitless attempts to gently dismiss his concerns so they could back to the issue at hand: sums. And it looks like he might have some success, for a second ... But then Frodo makes the mistake of asking Sam to pretend he and Merry are on the same (social) level, and the Gaffer's lad is off again ... Luckily for Frodo, Bilbo shows up to save the day, sort of. And if you want to know what I mean by that, you'll just have to read More Sums With Sam to find out! Really very funny. Honestly, this is one of Antane's best works and I highly recommend it if you want to smile and laugh and delight in the whole hobbity joy of it all!

Author response: Thank you so much, my dear, for another glorious review! This was a lot of fun to write and I'm so glad it gave you such enjoyment! Namarie, God bless, Your happy bloom :)

A delightful tale of tweenaged Frodo and little Sam Gamgee. The relationship is very well-drawn here; Sam is eager to learn the arithmetic that Frodo and Bilbo try to teach him, but Sam will not allow any talk of advancement in terms of his own social status; as the very clever bit of foreshadowing about Sam being the Mayor shows. It's a very hobbity vignette; especially with the lesson being made with food! Little Sam is cute and earnest but not too sentimentally written. Nicely done, Antane!

Author response: Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it so much! Namarie, God bless!

Little Sam is just adorable in this, as Frodo attempts to teach him's a rather frustrating effort on the part of his tutor, as he finds his little pupil to be very literal-minded. And the end is just...awww...

Author response: Glad you enjoyed it, my dear! God bless.

A charming story which caught my attention as I've always been hopeless at sums! Maybe as patient a teacher as Frodo would have helped. I had to smile at how easily food distracted the two Hobbits!

Author response: Glad you enjoyed it! I am terrible at numbers myself. It would be lovely to have Frodo as teacher though... God bless. :)
