I kept expecting someone to start whistling while I was reading this story. I grew up on old reruns of Lassie, so this brought back quite a few memories. Loved Frodo's complete confusion during the dream, and I loved even more that Lassie found him in a well. She's always finding people in wells. You'd think that someone would catch on once in a while. Ah well. Fun story!

What a sweet and tender story Dreamflower! All the Lassie clichés are in there, for example that Lassie almost always finds someone in the well, but it was so pleasant to read that the Valar granted Frodo a break from carrying the Ring. The explanation why Frodo doesn't dream about his parents was very moving. Just the thought that Frodo did get a dream that gave him some solace was very rewarding to read.

This is a very funny little tale and a most unsuspected crossover but it worked so very well in the hands of this talented author. She managed to put together two very different sets of characters and blend them into one entertaining story. And after all, isn't that what a good crossover accomplishes?
