I like the stories focusing on the common people who sacrificed homes, families, and lives for Gondor yet never managed to make it into the big songs. That this woman has already lost two sons is sobering, especially when we know that few are going to return from the raid against Osgiliath. Somber and moving drabble. Nicely done.

The scene where Faramir and the Rangers ride out in the film is terribly bitter, and that bitterness is caught here in a glimpse of the thoughts of one family member watching. Excellent.

A sad moving vignette. I like the way you catch the suffering of thewar through the eyes of a character. It is effeective and moving.
