I love that image of Glorfindel giving that heavy cloak 'mental strokes.' How very like my image of Glorfindel and Celeborn both to behave the way they did. I could definitely see it, both of them seemed in character to me.

So like Glorfindel to want to continue being a hero! So like Celeborn to continue being strong where he is needed. So much has changed, it is comforting to see the strength of what remains.

This one is sad but not. The elves have gone but for Celeborn, Glorfindel and the twins. And Celeborn comes to Imladris. And interesting look at the aftermath and yet we are left wondering.

I do so love Glorfindel and Marnie portrays him so well. Elrond has sailed, and Glorfindel, faced once again with grasping reigns of power, battles his desire and cedes the battle of wills to Celeborn, allowing him rule over Imladris. Irony comes in play when he learns Celeborn had assure his position beforehand, obtaining permission from the absent Lords Elladan and Elrohir. A lovely story, made all the more so by Marnie's eye for detail.
