I loved the 'one strident fellow.' This was a delightful moment on which i am guessing is the road to Rivendell since Boromir talks of his own home being separate. Anything Boromir-centric is worth reading. Anything Boromir-centric by Linaewen is well worth reading. (Though the sounds of the cicada mesmorize me, I think I would go mad if trying to rest with the little buggers ranting and raving right above me!

Definitely short and sweet! I like this little drabble/ficlet thing, it really communicates the distance Boromir has travelled, and in turn, the sense of a well deserved rest. The author also cleverly hints at Boromir's own strong and insistent nature as well as very clearly showing the love he has for his own home and country.

Definitely a fitting response to the [Short and Sweet] challenge. Linaewen sketches a lovely and credible moment during Boromir's journey north. The image of this mighty warrior as a rather homesick traveler who finds comfort in the cicadas' song is memorable, and makes a lot of sense.

A very nice drabble. The setting and time are not specified, yet it seems to me that this might have been a brief respite on Boromir's 110 day journey to Imladris. I like the combination of homesickness and contentment in the moment conveyed here.

I enjoyed this glimpse of Boromir taking a rest from the sun on his long journey to Rivendell and being reminded of home by the sound of the cicadas. This brought a welcome warmth on a chilly winter night!

Lovely little ficlet. In those difficult war years, it is nice to see a few moments of peace. Nicely done.
