Aramel portrays the several meanings of fire and how this element fuelled the FŽanorians and their followers in this incredibly well written series. From the desire of Celegorm, the driving force of Maedhros, goal, the wrath, and injustice done to the exiles taken fruit from Melkor's seeds of burning lies, the spirit of fire embodied by FŽanor and oh so stunning, to the creation of Narya. They all are connected, but are also small gems. A part that was particularly evoking was this: [The wild swan has flown off with his heart, so he will comfort himself with a lesser bird-- and if this glimmering shade of a maiden is a poor substitute for her fire, still he can dream.] Simply amazing, this gives us a great insight in Celegormís character and his motives.

An interesting perspective on the making of Narya--here the greatest of the three, thanks to Celebrimbor's memories of the delights of his grandfather's forge. Fire here is not the consuming force wielded by darkness, but the spark of life to bring hope into being.

The last drabble is a believable, if AU-tale of the creation of the Three Elven Rings. Celebrimbor contemplating a Ring of Earth is a fascinating idea, and his reason for choosing a Ring of Fire in the end - fond memories of his grandfather FŽanor - is a moving conclusion.

Quite a thought-provoking drabble, Aramel! The idea that there was a Ring of Earth--and how it came to be changed to a Ring of Fire--is an intriguing idea. I also love the flashbacks to Celebrimbor's past.

Anything about Celebrimbor immediately catches my eye. I think he is perhaps the most overlooked character in LOTR fan fic. I really like this drabble because it shows some of the motivation for one of his choices as well as reminding us that he is/was a Feanorian, not just the creator of the Rings of Power. Beautifully written, Aramel.

An interesting concept, concerning the Three. I'd occasionally wondered why no Ring of Earth, and this very convincingly answers that question. I'm not up enough on the subtleties of the Silm to recognize any AU elements, but I do like this very much. A plausible gap-filler.

Ooh, very interesting. The thoughts and memories that inspired Celebrimbor's choices don't really bode well for the future effects of the rings, though.
