This is a heartwarming story about Aragorn's and Boromir's meeting in Rivendell and Boromir's recognition of Thorongil aka Aragorn. I love it that Boromir has good memories of Aragorn and is not immediately jealous and against Aragorn's claim for the throne. Although, he acknowledges that there are problems with his claim in the future. I like the interweaving of Boromir's dream/memory of his childhood conversation with Thorongil with the events of the present. An added bonus is Faramir's appearance.

The memories of a child run through this tale. A tale of a trust between a child and a soldier. As we read of little Boromir, we wonder what impact the friendship he has with a certain Ranger might portend for the future. Can it be possible that Aragorn and Boromir will be friends? The sword weaves its way throughout this tale, bringing the reader full circle. This is a great read. Simple yet profound.

This story is an interesting character study of two of the most important Men in LotR--Aragorn and Boromir, and how they came to befriend each other. The tale also demonstrates the importance of memory, and the dialogue is quite good. Anyone who reads it will not be disappointed.

In the beginning of this lovely story, we see Thorongil with little Boromir. Then, we see different epizodes of their lives, until they meet again in Rivendell. I really love the idea that Boromir recognized Aragorn, and that Aragorn invited him to see reforging of Narsil. I also love how Linaewen describes developing of their frienship.

This piece is different from anything I've read before! Normally one reads about Thorongil interacting with Denethor while in Gondor; that he would speak with Boromir is a beautiful and interesting thought.
