I just re-read The Hobbit so your piece was particularly poignant, showing again how Thorin's people loved him, and how Thranduil respected him as well. (And I still don't see where anyone gets that Thranduil is mean, I thought he showed some great restraint, really)

Brilliant little vignette! I really wish Tolkien had included more details about Thorin's tomb and the fact that everyone paid tribute to the dwarf. Elves and dwarves can come together, though it seemed to take extreme circumstances to do it in this case. Nevertheless, there was a very peaceful, somber feeling about this fic that gave me hope for future friendship, however tentative it might be.

A thoughtful little tale and a good gap filler.

Touching story of the tribute paid by Thranduil to someone who was once his prisoner and once an enemy and once an ally. Very describtive and detailed, well-written and beautiful. Wild Iris pays Thranduil a tribute with her story. This is not the brute too many fans think he is. No, this is as Tolkien wrote him. Wild Iris just gave us another scene.
