Oh, yes, Gimli would compare it all to metal, but he grew too, beyond that, and opened his mind along with his heart.

Some surprisingly poetic turns of phrase coming from Gimli, but given his devotion to Galadriel, I think they're very appropriate. I like how he initially compares her hair to the metals he's familiar with, but at the end of the drabble, he's moved from metal to the Two Trees and how his view as elves in general has changed. Great character growth, especially given the confines of a drabble.

How Gimli's eyes were opened by seeing Galadriel and now he can see the beauty of Elves. If only everyone could learn to see beyond their prejudices. Well done, Elana

I liked Gimli's little revelation, here, about the nature of beauty. Would that we all had such moments more often!
