Caught in the wrath of a great storm and flood, four of the denizens of the Shire find themselves reaching out in thought, each to the one who helps him or her strengthen best. Then, with that one in mind, each goes forth to find the way to deal best with the situation. Dreamflower has described one of the situations that try our souls, our determination, and our ingenuity, and shows how each reaches out to find strength to do what is necessary to succor those cut off by the flood or who has lost home and livelihood. That she herself experienced just such a situation in Hurricane Katrina helps add to the immediacy of the writing. A powerful set of drabbles.

To begin with, I love the title of this tale because it feels emotional and goes right to the heart. Dreamflower has captured the soul of each character as he or she considers the great tragedy that has befallen Buckland with the flood and written their thoughts with feeling. And just what *would* Mr Frodo do in those circumstances? I'm sure he'd be right there at the forefront. Very sweet, a bit sad, and yet hopeful.

A dreadful storm has hit Buckland, and Dreamflower explores how four different hobbits respond to the emergency. The four drabbles are woven together by one common aspect: that each hobbit in this dire situation thinks of somebody else, somebody who they consider a role model and somebody whose image gives them strength to do what is necessary. This is neatly done and very convincing.

Dreamflower has done an excellent job of showing how no man is an island -- or rather, no Hobbit, in these four linked drabbles giving the thoughts of four Hobbits on the same unfolding natural disaster. We see how the characters draw strength from each other, and from others who have touched their lives, to weather the literal and emotional storm they're facing. A neatly put together series.

These drabbles vividly depict what it is like to be caught in a violent storm, a truly scary experience, which brings back painful memories for the Hobbits.
