How beautiful to see Eowyn's choices and actions through her own eyes and her own experiences. Elfenears has written a truly memorable description of the life of the Shieldmaiden of Rohan from the fear of Grima's attentions to the acceptance of Faramir's love. This is an atypical poem, and the more fascinating for its often asymmetric rhyme scheme. Language is well used and imagery is compelling. Definitely a piece to be appreciated.

Eowyn's take on events from TTT and ROTK, presented in verse. The formatting seems glitchy at times, but the sentiments are in keeping with Eowyn's character. She asks a question I have often wondered about the Rohirrim: why do they train and revere Shieldmaidens and yet not allow them to fight? An anomaly I've often found puzzling, and not a little stupid.

My inner Faramirist smiled at the ending of this poem; which conveys Eowyn's sorrow and trials and takes the reader through her darkness to the light of an unshadowed future.

A thoughtful look in verse at Eowyn's hopes and fears as she deals her difficulties. We rejoice with her at the happy ending.
