This delightful and heartwarming story concerns the adventures of young Eldarion and a Princess from Harad who becomes his teacher. Eldarion proves every inch his parent's child in his compassion, warmth and resourcefulness. The lovable Princess is soon taken under Aragorn and arwen's wing and taken on a holiday with them, where young Eldarion unexpectedly helps to bring the lonely Princess well deserved happiness. I love the way the writer shows how these characters enrich one another's lives and goodness and compassion triumphs.

Eldarion's tutor has left, and it looks as if he will have a summer of leisure with no studies. But then he meets a Haradri princess who teaches him and his sister without the two children being truly aware of how they are learning. But the story of this lady and her losses touch the heart of the Prince of Gondor, until he finds a lost treasure and sees it restored. Lovely use of reality and fantasy brought together to make a satisfying tale.

What? Education can be interesting? Elessar and Arwen should definitely encourage the acquaintance! Their son will benefit enormously - lessons in manners, other cultures, the value of books. Good for Lady Seraphine! The relationship between Eldarion and the princess from Harad is an intriguing one - although she is in exile, there is an equality between them that he would never get with another tutor. And it is fascinating discovering more about her life, too.
