This drabble already reads like a sort of homecoming for the characters. The elements curiouswombat uses to convey that meaning (grazing horses, a feast, sunset) are rather simple, but beautifully effective and serve as lovely foreshadowing for the eventual arrival in the Blessed Realm. The fair weather at sea is a great finishing touch. I enjoyed this a lot, in particular that the author decided to challenge more common associations with the colour red, such as blood, war, or passion, and offered a counter-example of how it may also have positive and in fact peaceful associations.

In this drabble, curiouswombat has created a lovely picture of the moment when departing Elves finish one journey and prepare to embark on another. I'm struck by how the language is simple and yet vivid and evocative it reminds me Frodo's description of Cerin Amroth, that he sees no colours but ones he knows well, and yet they're fresh and new-minted. In a way that seems eminently elven and suitable for the subject, curiouswombat has pulled off the same trick with her choice of words, phrasing and sentence structure all topped off by Cirdan's benediction for their voyage. Delightful.

What a delight! CuriousWombat's language is simple and evocative. I'm not sure when was the last time I read a ficlet that immediately made me feel I was actually *in* the story, feeling the relief of a long journey ended, the promise of food and rest, the beauty and quiet of a peaceful evening. And then - bam! The punch line twisted me all right round, in the most wonderful kind of way, just as a perfect drabble should. What a great way to be fooled!

A lovely drabble with Cirdan, who is a comparatively rare fanfiction protagonist, welcoming unknown Elves who have come to sail West. CuriousWombat shows the travellers' weariness, their ambivalence about the voyage to a land that not all of them may remember. The brilliant sunset, leading to Cirdan's use of the old "Red sky" adage, is fitting, for so significant an evening and Cirdan's vocation as a shipwright.

This is a rather lovely description of a serene sunset, tinged with sadness when we realise the events that are about to happen and where the weary travellers are going to continue their jourmney to - it is almost inevitable to have Annie Lennox in your head as you read it. ;-)

This is a lovely drabble. I like how you've built up the picture step by step to give a rich and multi-layered image.

A very nice snapshot of the Grey Havens, and what it meant to those who came there. I like that it is vague, and we may imagine for ourselves who the travellers are.

What a perfect omen for the voyage to come, as those newly come to Mithlond enjoy a brilliant end of the day. I love this drabble!

It is easy to visualize elves arriving at the Grey Havens, ready to celebrate one last time before leaving Middle-earth for their eternal home. Nice imagery.
