Summary: N/A How Legolas left Middle-earth; what he felt, and why. The story explores the nature of the sea longing, how Legolas knew about ships, why Thranduil stayed behind, why we never hear about Thranduil's queen, and other mysteries. The story is not movie-verse. Nor is it AU, exactly. It attempts to fill a gap in the canon.

This was a wonderfully woven and very original tale seen through the eyes of a mortal woman named Aerlinn. Her observations of Legolas and Gimli was done with a keen eye and appropriately fit the storyline. I loved the way the story went full circle with the past, and though, for the most part, it was sad in nature, it ended on a note of hope and ultimate joy. I particularly liked the description of the ship leaving the sea and moving onto the Straight Road. It's just how I think it would have been.

A very unusual take on Legolas--his life, his sea-longing and his journey West. I really liked the OFC Aerlluin, who was full of integrity and wisdom. And Gimli was amazing. I truly loved her portrayal of fierce Gimli.
