Summary: A set of drabbles based on the Seven Deadly Sins, and the conceit of an AU Haldir. Extrapolating from movieverse!Haldir, who appears as proud, distant, disdainful, the very essence of a Noldo. This AU set explores how he came to this demeanor, and the [possible] events that made him who he is.

There is something beautiful in the sorrow of these songs. I think it comes from the counterpoint between what we would expect each of the sins' drabbles to contain, and what they actually do. There is certainly lust, but the "lust" drabble is of a lust for blood, for flesh. That keeps it fresh. Also I love the fact that you've made Haldir a Noldo. The movies just scream for that (and that haughty pride is there in the books, though perhaps not obviously). I've done it in one of my pieces, and was glad to see what someone else would make of that idea.

WOW! That really covered the full gammit of emotions! And I loved the imagry of the red cloak. It is something that so many people hit on in their own fanfics, but never seem to put much of a serious explanation to. It was nice to see a new twist on an old favourite. And the seven deadly sins theme worked very well - tied it all together nicely.

very interesting and insightful. I don't read much movie!verse, but Haldir is so much more developed in the movies I feel it is, many times, needed in his case. I especially like seeing the seven sins tied to the Noldor. I think, in many ways, they are worthy of such. The best and the worst of all the Eldar could be.

This is a stunning, emotionally powerful, and gripping series of vignettes, ranging from the First Age through the Fourth. Very nicely written!
