A wonderful bit of levity amidst the darkness of war! In a few short paragraphs, dancingkatz deftly characterizes two people, their relationship, and the relationship (for want of a better word) that they have with other characters who never even appear. The situation isn't funny in and of itself, but the remarkable thing is that dancingkatz *makes* it funny. Despite the gloom of war and the need for evacuation, there's a common and everyday air injected when Amdiriel begins complaining about exactly what she'll have to listen to if she rides out on the wains. Galhras's means of silencing her is brilliant and brought a smile to her face. I also love that through his lines, we know exactly what Amdiriel is doing without having to move back into narration and be told her actions. That keeps the focus squarely on Galhras, which is just where it needs to be as he delivers the punchline. Superb timing and great humor!

A most delightful peek at marital relations between a guardsman and his wife as she tells her reasons for not wishing to accompany her neighbors to the havens in the mountains before the enemy arrives upon the Pelennor. But has she unwittingly condemned herself to an even worse fate should she choose to stay? For that would mean serving alongside.... Very clever and cunningly amusing. I must definitely applaud Danzingkatz for this tale!

This ficlet is a lovely glimpse of family life as war looms; I very much liked Amdiriel, whose worry and stubbornness is evident from the very first line, and the punchline made me smile. Thank you!

A touching scene between two OCs on the eve of the War. I am sure that similar scenes must have played out all over Minas TIrith-- but this one is both sweet and funny.
