With just ten days or so left to vote in the 2009 MEFAs, we're
dedicating the last of our story focuses to two types of stories that
there's still enough time to read and vote for in this year's awards:
stories that all are under 1000 words each.
These stories fall into two groups. The various Drabble subcategories in
each main category are for pieces that are exactly 100 words, or for
series where each part is exactly 100 words. We also have a new category
this year called Ficlets which contains stories that are up to 1,000
words long but not also a true drabble. A Ficlet series can be any
number of pieces, each no more than 1,000 words, which are not all true
drabbles.

Someone's alerted me that I wasn't very clear in my previous post that
the list of "Ficlets" was based on those stories where the author chose
"Genres: Ficlets" as one of their three category choices. (That's just
like, for instance, when we listed "Genres: Non-Fiction" a couple of
weeks back).
There are, of course, lots of other ficlet-length stories competing
where the author didn't select "Genres: Ficlets" as one of their three
category choices. You can find all of those by using the "Length"
dropdown in the story filter.
