How much longer do we have to request our banners? I know everyone
would like to wrap things up for '08 soon and I don't want to wait too
long, but things have been crazy since the holidays.

Thanks!

Hi Cathleen,

Yes, things are crazy around the holidays, aren't they? {{{hugs}}}

I'm one of the banner volunteers, and I know it's taking me longer than
expected to go through the backlog, so I will personally commit to checking
the request mailbox through the month of January. The sooner you get your
request in, the sooner one of us might address it... but please be patient!

This is helpful info to me, as well. I have been wondering about the
status of my banners after requesting them in early December, but I
haven't wanted to bug anyone if they were still being worked on.
Sounds like you all are pretty busy yet!

Best wishes on your banner work!

Hi Linaewen!

This is really embarrassing, but I can't seem to find your banner request...
did you submit it under the same screen name and/or email address? It might
be just that someone else started working on it without updating the
"claimed" list, or perhaps we didn't receive your request... I'm really
sorry!

Would you mind re-sending your request? Send it to mefa.banners [at] yahoo
[dot] com, and maybe cc me at ElenaTiriel [at] gmail [dot] com, so I can
make sure it arrives safely.

Again, I'm really sorry, Lin, but if you re-send it I'll make sure it makes
it into the queue.

Hi Linaewen!

Never mind! Tanaqui logged on and found your request, and someone has
claimed it to work on it.

Sorry, I didn't look for the right name! So, you don't have to re-send it.

Sorry for my confusion!

ADMIN: Banners - customisation requests - STATUS update Posted by Tanaqui January 06, 2009 - 8:26:26 Topic ID# 964
Hi All

There have been several queries about banner customization recently,
and Marta has asked me to help out by tidying up the loose ends and
making sure all the winners get the banners they asked for.

I wanted to do a "status report" so that if you've already submitted a
request and not received your banners, you know what's happening and
that we haven't forgotten you. (I know our banner customizers are
working as quickly as they can in between the demands of real life, the
distractions of the festive season and other fandom commitments.)

The current status is:

* Requests received but not yet claimed by a banner customizer: docmon,
Keiliss, Kenaz, lindalea

* Requests claimed and being worked on: Jael, Ignoble Bard and linaewen

* Queries about banners already sent out: received from Neilia,
Primsong, gamgeefest and Alassante7 (I'm checking with the banner
customizers to make sure these are being handled.)

* Winners who have received most of their banners but may have one more
to come: Stefaniab, Linda Hoyland, Jay of Lasgalen

If you're not on any of these lists and think you should be, please drop
us a line at mefa [dot] banners [at] yahoo [dot] com. If you're on one
of the lists but you've received your banners or already had your query
dealt with, please drop us a line at the same address so I can update
our records.

If you still need to get your request in (and it's hard work choosing
from such a wonderful selection of banners!), please send it to the same
address as soon as you can. (Elena Tiriel has offered to keep dealing
with requests until at least the end of January, but the sooner you can
get your request in, the better!)

Finally, I'm sure all MEFA members, and especially winning authors,
would like to join me in thanking all the wonderful people who have made
banners or customized them for all their hard work: Baranduin,
Cactuskim, Elea24, Elena Tiriel, Marta, mistry89, Nath, Nau_tika,
Nieriel Raina and Viv. We couldn't run the MEFAs without you or any of
our other hard-working volunteers!

Re: Banners for 2008 Winners Posted by Barbara Rich January 14, 2009 - 8:43:44 Topic ID# 9688
No problem. I've lived without them this long, a little longer won't hurt,
LOL! But now that I finally know what to do with them now that I have them,
I think it's about time I did something about it.

Thanks for letting me know you got my requests, though. Saves me bugging
you to ask if they arrived.

There are so many gorgeous banners - would you believe I'm still
picking mine out? I'm glad I have until the end of January;
hopefully I'll sort out my requests before then.

Hi All

I just wanted to give you another status update. Our wonderful banner
customizers have been working hard over the past week, and have sent out
lots more banners. *g*

They are currently working on requests from Imhiriel, Ignoble Bard,
Allie Meril, Dreamflower and Cathleen.

If you sent in a request and haven't received your banners, but you're
not on this list, please let us know.

If you still want to make a request, please could you make it as soon as
possible, and before the end of January at the latest. (And yes, I know
how hard it is to decide which banners to have!)

Once again, a huge thanks to all our banner makers and customizers.

Hi

The official banner site is at http://mefawards.net/fanart/. If you need
the login password to download any nominee banners, please email me and
I'll send it to you.

Elena Tiriel is also willing to customize the "unofficial" banners which
she made too late to be included in this year's set of official banners.
You can find these at

Hi All

*** 5 MORE DAYS TO REQUEST 2008 BANNERS ***

The end of January is approaching fast. If you still need to submit your
request for Winners' Banners, please get it to us *before the end of 31
January*, as we can't guarantee to fulfill any requests made after that
date. Email your request to mefa dot banners at yahoo dot com.

You can choose banners from the official site at
http://mefawards.net/fanart/. If you need the login password to download
any nominee banners, please email me and I'll send it to you.

Elena Tiriel is also willing to customize the "unofficial" banners which

You can find these at

As always, a huge thank you to our banner customizers, who have done a
fantastic job dealing with all the requests that have come in. We don't
appear to have any outstanding requests at the moment, but if anyone has
sent a request in and hasn't had a reply, please drop me a line and I'll
look into it.

Don't forget, the deadline for submitting requests is *31 January 2009*

Argh! Time got away from me and then I forgot that I hadn't registered
at the banner site. *Headdesk* is it too late or is Jan 31st already
over with in England?

Relax, Rhyselle and Agape!

I'll keep checking the banner request mailbox for a few more days, at least.

There are currently requests there from Bodkin, Perianteri, and Raksha, so
it will take a while to get through them.

Oh, and Rhyselle -- yours just arrived!

Hi Agape!

You're welcome! and no Balrogs were summoned ;-)

Actually, I'm pretty sure you don't need to login to see the banners at
mefawards.net... just browse through them, and make note of the banner
number (e.g. 08Win###)... that's all we really need (along with the story
name and the award/category it won in). If you want to be *really* nice, you
can copy the URL from your browser's address bar for each of the banners you
want, so we don't have to browse through all the pages to find the one(s)
you want, but that's not a necessity...

If you have any problems, send me an email directly... I will be up for many
hours yet....

Hi Agape,

Barbara is correct - you don't need a password to claim your banners.
Just...

1. Go to www.mefawards.net/fanart/ and find the banners you want. Jot down
the reference number (of the form "08win039" or something like that) you
want for each story. No need to log in, anyone can *see* the banners - you
just need a password to download them.

2. Send an email to mefa.banners@yahoo.com , listing the banner and the
story you want to use for it.

But to make things easy, I'll resend your email telling you your results
right now. That should include all the info you need.

Marta

Hello, Barbara -

No matter what I did - the website would not let me see any banners without
logging in. I tried by using the user name and the password that I used for
MEFA's for this year - but it wouldn't let me in.

So I registered again - I do have problems with technology sometimes :)

Blessings,
Agape

Re: MEFA 2008 Banners - FINAL CALL FOR REQUESTS Posted by Elena Tiriel January 31, 2009 - 23:38:28 Topic ID# 9738
Hi Agape,

I'm sorry that you're having problems!

I just re-read my last message, and realized that I didn't give you the
right address... sorry!

If you go directly to <mefawards.net/fanart/>, you should be able to browse
the banners without logging in.

I should be around for at least 3 or 4 more hours, so feel free to reply if
you still have problems.... {{{hugs}}}
