ADMIN - Authors, Please Read! - Deadline to Finalize Nominations Posted by telperion1 June 21, 2010 - 4:05:33 Topic ID# 10561
Hey guys,

The deadline to have your nominations ready to compete is tonight - 11:59 PM
GMT, on June 21. I've mentioned this in several admin posts here, but there
was a snafu with the website. The wrong date was displayed in the FAQ. It
was also displayed in the email all authors were sent at the end of
nominations, though I did email everyone shortly after that correcting the
mistake.

I don't want to penalize authors unfairly because of this mistake. On the
other hand, though, I do want the awards to move forward, so we can keep to
later deadlines that have been publicized. We are working under a pretty
tight timeline right now, and volunteers need to start setting up categories
and subcategories within the next few days, or things will get more
confusing down the line. But I see at least one author expected to have more
time. And since there was a mistake on the website, I want to give any
confused authors the time they need.

So, here's what we're going to do. On June 22 I will withdraw those
nominations that aren't ready to compete.

HOWEVER! If you email me by June 28 with the information necessary to fill
out your form, I will fill out your form for you, and will restore your
nomination so it will still be able to compete.

The catch is, we will start work on categories on June 22. If you complete
your form after then (but before June 28), we will work you into one of the
categories and subcategories that are set up. You may not get as good a
placement as if you were done by the 21st, and the sooner you are done, the
better it will be. Of course we will do our best to put you in the main
category and subcategory you indicated on your story form.

The story form requires the following information. If you need to complete
